"And These Things We Write, That Our Joy May Be Made Full"

"and these things we write, that [b]our joy may be made full."

1 John 1:4
American Standard Version

Life can be hectic. Life can be slow.
Either way, it is always a great feeling to put your thoughts, feelings down on paper. Handwriting. To organize your plans, to draw some conclusions, to clear up the picture.

When is the last time you touched really high quality stationery?
When you write down your thoughts, your conclusions on high quality paper and use a high quality pen, words seem to be "gliding", effortlessly. You feel every fibre of the paper and you see every drop of the ink. Old-fashioned yet stylish that never goes out of style.

When we write down something on paper, the tiny little movements of our body, our fingers, the nerves on our fingertips give us vibrations. To write with your hand is almost an otherworldly, a spiritual experience.

You write down what is important to you. And the act of writing gains a spiritual meaning. The sensation that everything is a whole, everything is right.
While you are writing, sooner or later you'll feel something has changed. Your breathing tells you that you have become calm. Inside of you things begin to settle down and at the same time something new arises.

Calmness and movement. Fast and slow. Excitement and peace.

All this is the fruit of one single act. The act of writing, with your hand, the words, actions in your life.  Don't miss it.

"According to Your Faith Be It Done Unto You"

"According to your faith be it done unto you."

Matthew 9:29

When we believe, when we have faith in something, we picture that thing in our mind, the thing is almost as if it had already happened.

Our faith is powerful. Our faith is our friend. Our faith is our church.

When you believe you can do something, in one way or another, you will achieve it.
When you believe you can do something, you will have strength.
You will become an unimaginable force of nature.

And that strength will give you hope and a burning desire to reach new heights, conquer new territories and most of all, to be good to yourself.
Be good, have faith and you'll feel that invisible universal force that binds all creatures and things together.

"This Is How God Showed His Love Among Us"

"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him."

1 John 4:9
New International Version

When we put our heart and soul to what we do, we express our love. That love shines through our actions, our work.
Sometimes life seems to be a neverending cycle of daily grind that gets us down.

God is present even in the smallest things that we do if we dedicate ourselves to do that thing with profound faith. With conviction. With dedication. With love. When we believe in what we do, when we apply ourselves to the task at hand, we do God's work.

God loves us since he sent his Son to this world to give us guidance.
To show that we love and care is to live every day the way we really want to live. That day and our life.

"For If Ye Love Them That Love You, What Reward Have Ye?""

"but I say unto you, Love your enemies, and pray for them that persecute you; 45 that ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust. 46 For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? do not even the [u]publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the Gentiles the same? 48 Ye therefore shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect."

Matthew 5: 44-48
American Standard Version

If we do what others do, if we do exactly the same that others do, what's the point?

Is it more?
Is it better?
Does it lead us to a different place?
Do we question what we do every single day?
Do we question if it is at all good when we do what others do?
Do we want what others want?
Do we choose the easy way out?
Do we choose the right way?
The way that is right for us?
How can we do more?
Do we want to be and stay the same?
Do we want to be perfect?

Are we not already perfect the way we are?

To Be Tempted of The Devil"

"Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil."

Matthew 4:1
American Standard Version

Being tempted of the devil is part of life.
The devil has many faces: food, drink, false friends, things we waste our money on, time vampires, you name it. Visible and invisible forces.
We encounter devilish temptations without recognizing their full impact.

Temptations can be big and small. The devil can take many forms. The devil's sole purpose is to lead us astray so that we don't fulfill our potential. It gives us distractions so that we focus on them instead of working on our true calling. The devil doesn't want to let us be who we are and who we want to be.

A soul, a person who is what he or she wants to be is an independent entity. The devil does not want independent and fulfilled souls. When there are too many of these souls, his mere existence is in danger. The devil is the status quo.

Temptations are out there. Our task is to know exactly where we want to go and then without hesitation move toward that goal. There will be obstacles. There will be temptations. Like for instance in the movie: "The Walk". By the way, it's more than worth watching. Even in the last moments there can be obstacles.

When we know what we want, what we truly want, even if there are distractions, God is with us.

"The Word Became Flesh"

"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us."

John 1:14
New International Version

What your mind can conceive, it can achieve.
What is in your mind and on your mind, that is the Word.

Words become thoughts, thoughts become actions, actions become our reality.

Choose your words carefully. The words you have chosen will become your reality.
What we put in our minds have a deep and longlasting effect on our consiousness. And our consciousness is the first gate to our future. Even to our body.

Have you noticed that losing weight is oftentimes one of the most ardous tasks a person can take on?

Diets fail most of the time. The reason why they fail is that they are driven by motivation outside of the person's consiousness. It means that by exercising enormous willpower, the person forces himself/herself to do things that are not to his/her liking.

Success comes from the mind, from the words we use. They design our future, the future that becomes flesh right before our eyes.

"The Kingdom of Heaven Is Like A Mustard Seed"

“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.
Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”

Matthew 13:31, 32

What we plant today however small it is will grow and grow in the future.
However tiny little thing you do today think of it as a step toward the future. Life is made up of days and days are made up of our actions. These actions, these days are our life.

When you know what you are doing it will show in the actions that you do.
Others may see you as disjointed they don't see why you are doing what you are doing. You know it. And that's what counts.

For every little thing you plant today will become bigger and bigger as time passes.
Big things come from small things. Big successes come from small victories.
Tomorrow will be another day. Today is the day we have. Let's give today what today's share is.

"For Every Creature of God Is Good"

"For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving: 5 for it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer."

1 Timothy 4:4, 5
American Standard Version

Giving thanks for what we have is how we show our gratitude. Giving thanks is how we acknowledge that life itself is a miracle.

Prayer power is the power of thanksgiving, gratitude, goodness, faith.
God knows who we are. He/she does not need our thanks. It is us whose soul is filled with joy when we give thanks. Giving thanks is our way of empowering ourselves and elevating our consciousness as human beings.
Giving thanks is the act of expressing our deepest feelings.

When we give thanks we immediately become one with the universe. The act of thanksgiving is the act of showing our inner beauty.
Giving thanks is the way of nobility, the way of acceptance and the way of empowerment.

Giving thanks is the true sign of a magnanimous soul.

"Nothing Will Be Impossible for You"

"Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 17:20
New International Version

Oftentimes we think and say to ourselves 'oh, that surely can't be done'.

This is what we hear other people chanting from time to time. We find discouragement and lack of faith anywhere we go. The world is filled with Debbie Downers.
On the other hand, a person who fills us with faith and hope is a true gem, a rarity.

Do you remember when you were a kid and everything seemed magical? Everything seemed possible and you tried out every single idea that had come to your head?
Why not preserve this outlook on life when you are an adult?

In the Bible Jesus says that faith can move mountains.
We all experienced the power of faith at least once in our life. When something happened we had previously thought impossible. And it happened. We put our soul to it. Had faith. And that something happened.

When there is a seemingly insourmontable task ahead of us, the memory of past impossibilities we overcame stays with us and gives us -- faith. Faith to finish the impossible, faith to continue, faith to move maybe small molehills first which then become mountains.

"Faith, Hope, Love"

"And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing."
1 Corinthians 13:2
American Standard Version

"But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13
American Standard Version

Love for your country.
Love for your work.
Love for your family.
Love for your friends.
Love for your spouse.
Love for your significant other.
Love for your pets.
Love for your passions.
Love for yourself.

Love gives the object of that love that special meaning without which said object is nothing but an empty shell.

Love is the root of everything that has value in life. As a coin has two sides, most things in life have two sides. Love and hatred are two sides of the same thing: passion, the will two express our true self. Love and hatred are two sides of our inner passion showing itself, its true self in the world.

When you do something from the greatest depths of your heart, the world feels it. You feel it.
When we do something, anything with love, with great conviction, mountains will be moved.
Love, the representation of your mind, heart and soul will guide you wherever you want to go.
Love makes you that special individual you have always striven to become.
With the help of love also you will realize it's true.
You are already that special individual.

"Rejoice Evermore"

"Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing."

1 Thessalonians 5: 16, 17
King James Version

In hard times and in good times God is with us. The power of prayer is the driving force behind every great achievement. When you envoke deep in your heart something greater than yourself, you pray.

When we say a prayer, a true prayer, a prayer that comes truly from the heart, something changes within us. And when something changes within us, our world changes.
The highest form of knowledge is the knowledge of yourself. "Know thyself." When you know yourself, you'll instinctively know what is good and what is bad for you. This way you become a useful person to the world.

Joy and praying are connected. Prayers are a connection between God and us.
Prayers help us know ourselves better and give us a helping hand in the search for our own soul.
Even in hard times it is better to have joy in the heart. Time passes when we smile and time also passes when we don't smile. Isn't it infinitely better to smile? :-)

"Reaching Forth unto Those Things Which Are Before"

"(...) forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 3:13, 14
King James Version

The same thought is expressed in the simple words of Master Oogway in the tale, Kung Fu Panda: "Yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery,
and today is a gift...
that's why they call it present.”

There is a balance between past, present and future. The English language expresses this concept with the tense: Present Perfect. The name of said tense shows we have a past, probably a future and a present. What is perfect is the present moment we are living now.

There is the past. It can't be changed. It is what it is. Dwelling on it, reliving it is useless. Even the successes for, as Bill Gates said: "Success is a lousy teacher."
What is useful though is to draw a conclusion from past events and act upon those conclusions.

In the present we go forward, go toward that goal we would like to reach.
In the present we live and do our best to make the future happen. Today you can do whatever tiny little thing or big thing you can do to fulfill your potential.

Every day is a building block of the future you envision for yourself.
Live today to the fullest so that your future makes your dreams come true.

"Out of his Fullness"

"Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given."

John 1:16
New International Version

We can give the world our true self and our inner beauty when we are in unison with our fullness.
When we feel the wholeness, the fullness of our person, our soul, that is the time when our true calling manifests itself. That is the time when we can give the world the best we can do.

When we can be useful and feel good about it.

Fullness requires fullness in mind, body and spirit. Fullness requires attention. Fullness is the full reward in itself.
Fullness shines through all our actions, our thoughts and our intentions.
Fullness brightens your days and the days will eventually become your life.

"The Kingdom of God Is Within You"

"There! for lo, the kingdom of God is within you."

Luke 17:21, American Standard Version

God is with us and most importantly, within us. Within your heart. Within your soul.

The most fruitful journey, the journey that is really worth taking is the one within yourself.
If you know yourself, when you get to know yourself truly, everything in life gets a new meaning.

Life can get complicated. Life can be unjust. Life can be full of loops and curves.

"God is within you". This thought helps you and raises you so that you know you have everything you need -- within you.
Inner peace and harmony. Strengths and struggles. Highs and lows. Darkness and light. Within you.
Just go and search for it. When the answers are found within, a balance begins to exist. That balance will help you when you need it.

Everything that you are looking for, every answer you have been waiting for is within you.

"Ye Must Be Born Again"

"Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."

John 3:7

Have you noticed how much energy trying something new gives you?
When we do something for the first time, when we experience something we have never ever done before, the novelty of said experience fills us with joy and happiness. This brings us energy. A special type of energy. The energy that only new things, new experiences, new endeavours can provide.

That inexplicable sensation when you feel that new life, new hope, new blood is running through your veins. And this new blood is the key to a fresh start. A new book. Or a new chapter. Or a new paragraph. Or a new sentence. Or a new word. It doesn't matter what you start as long as you start something you have never tried before.

This will bring a fresh start. Your renaissance.

However small it is, reinvention will be on its way. With reinvention a new you will be born. Minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. At any age.

Being new, being born again, as it is written in the Bible, is not the privilege of the 20 year olds.
The Bible says it is possible anytime and anywhere. If it was true two thousand years ago, it is even more so today when there are more and more possibilities for everyone.

Do something new every day, no matter what is is. A new type of bread. A song you have never listened to before.

Something new every day to give you energy and happiness.

"The God Who Made the World"

"The God who made the world and everything in it, he who is Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by human hands, 25nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all mortals life and breath and all things. "

Acts 17:24, 25

Nothing passes unobserved by God.
Every act, every intention, every move, every breath, everything underneath the sun has its purpose.
Every day try and do your best. Sometimes you'll succeed, sometimes you won't. But still.
Even if you don't succeed in something or not as much as you wanted to, you still gave that day your best shot. And then tomorrow you'll do something new again. Keep going. Carry on.

God knows your intentions And that's what counts. Everything else is secondary. Nothing stands in the way of the person who firmly believes in their cause. God knows it.

Belief in your goals is the very first step toward achieving them.
Profound intentions bring profound results.
God has given you life. If you believe in God, in Karma, in any supernatural power that cannot be seen but can be felt, you'll feel when your intentions are good. And this gives you power to become the person you want to be. The person you always dreamed you would become.

"Do Not Be Afraid"

"‘Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent;"

Acts 18:9

Do we say openly what we want? What we really want?

The things we say to ourselves shape who we are and who we eventually become. Somehow, instinctively, we know it. And that is one of the reasons we are afraid to openly state our want. The hidden yearnings that lie dormant in our heart.
What we desire. What we want. Truly.

We are afraid that if we say it openly others will criticize us. They'll turn against us. Suffice it to say that anything we utter will be criticized and put under scrutiny. No matter what we say or do. This is human nature.

Words have tremendous power. Power over our mind and our body.
If you can say what you want, with all your heart, things will happen. In one way or another, the universe or a tiny part of the universe will listen. Say it with all your heart. And say it.

"I Am the Gate"

"I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture."

John 10:9

The belief in something greater than oneself is the ultimate salvation.
Oftentimes people do not give themselves wholly to what they do. Been there, done that, seen it. They just go through the motions.

The tasks in your everyday life can be daunting. Chores to do. Bills to pay. Requirements to fulfill. Other people's problems to solve. Work. Family. Obligations. Necessities. All of these demanding your time and immediate attention.

And yet. Pause for a moment.  Let everything stand still.
You'll realize that every single thing we do comes from within us. When you apply yourself, it is you. And through you, God shows his/her will and his/her love.

"Physician, Heal Yourself!"

"Physician, heal yourself!"

Luke 4:23

In accordance with this line Algernon Sidney, the English political theorist said: "God helps those who help themselves.". Later Benjamin Franklin quoted it in one of his books so this sentence now is attributed to him mostly.

What it means is that a lot of times we do not see how we can help ourselves. We just do what others want us to do. We accept solutions that are made by others and handed to us on a plate. We do not question the righteousness of these cookie-cutter, ready-made recipes.

If we look into our heart and see what is really there, we may see a different world.

The solution lies within us no matter what other people say and want.
How can anyone make their environment better if he or she is not fulfilled as an individual?

To use one's knowledge and one's wisdom to make one's life better is the best solution for the individual and for their community.

"To Every Thing There Is a Season"

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:"

Ecclesiastes 3

Everything has its own pace. Every act, every smile, every breath. The old and the new.
Theres is a time when the old is changed by the new. There is a time to say goodbye to an old life and welcome a new life.

If something takes years and years, decades and decades to set up, build up, its result is, the blooming, the end, the result, takes time, too. The great cathedrals. Great works of art. The industrial revolution. Machines. Computers. You name it.

Time is a great leveller. Do what you must, do what you can, do your best. Time it accordingly. For in the world everything is perfect. Even if it's hard to see that first.
Wants, needs, requirements, wishes, desires. Time is abstract. It is what you want it to be.

"You are a Light of the World"

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl."

Matthew 5:14,15

Let your light shine.
Everyone of us is unique. Everyone of us is special. Everyone of us is a lamp.
We are just hiding it.

In this day and age where everyone looks the same, acts the same, where are those lamps?

The world wants all the lamps. Everyone's lamp. To create a truly uniqe and remarkable place we call Earth.
Let it shine.

"I Can Do All Things Through Christ"

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

Philippians 4:13

Imagine that Christ is always with you. Imagine his presence everywhere you go and in everything you do.
Sometimes we feel lonely. Sometimes we feel forlorn. This is all natural.
There is no place for fear even if loneliness fills the heart with worry.

Christ, the thought of Christ gives strength and stamina. Moral, spiritual and even physical strength if need be.
Strength to follow through every task.
Strength to see you through the hard times and, surprisingly, the good times, too.

It's worth giving it a thought -- or two. Everything that has ever been accomplished is the outcome of something that is, in one way or another, in connection with the divine. The supernatural. Something that cannot be seen with the eyes.

Christ is strength. There is strength and possibility in imagining the presence of Christ.
We are together in this journey of life.

What Are You Asking?

"Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened."

(Matthew 7:7, 7:8)

Sometimes life throws you a curveball. Keep looking. Keep searching. Keep asking.
We can learn from the Bible that no matter what happens no matter how long or ardous the road may seem ahead of us, if we just keep looking and keep asking sooner or later something happens.
Miracles, also.
Miracles happen every day.
Sometimes they are in disguise.
Sometimes not.
But there they are.

Even when you feel down in the dumps, ask. Think what you want to ask and then ask. With faith. With conviction. With all your heart.

All desire comes from the heart and all things come through desire.
